    A QUICK SET OF LINES DROPPED ON THE SPUR OF THE MOMENT....

    I FOUND YOU

     I FOUND YOU
    When the road is smooth
    The journey seems short
    When the path is right
    Distance diminish.
    When the choice is right
    The decision seems wise
    When the thought flows smooth
    Actions become bright.

    I’ve been on the search
    For years gone by
    Looking into nooks 
    Peeping into crannies
    Ferreting all around
    Rummaging and yet
    Finding not what I seek… but,
    When the road is smooth
    The journey seems short
    When the path is right
    Distance diminish.

    I’ve been waiting
    All along for a lasting respite
    For a panacea I long for
    Yet picking the wrong all the while
    Getting a hurt and 
    Getting a pain
    Struggling in strain and
    Falling in vain,
    Getting a stain… but,
    When the choice is right
    The decision seems wise
    When the thought flows smooth
    Actions become bright.

    Very cool poem. I agree with Corey on the distances diminish issue, but that is a small fix. I like the way this speaks about something and someone so personal and that there is a sort of sexual undertone that is so true - - you can peek into all the nooks and crannies and not find the smooth transition that is what you were hoping for in the first place - a harbor for the soul, a baby girl, a family - but when they come it is as natural as gravity. At least, that's what I took from it . .

    I like the way the repetitive stanza parts made it flow and they fit so nicely. I like that it just flowed from you in a moment and was not overly thought out. The word ferriting was awesome, gave a great image. Love the pic of the baby (your son, I presume?)
