    silence is a sheild

    candy wrappers
    crumpled
    in his hand

    ties her
    string
    around his
    finger

    he controls
    the faces
    that she
    makes

    presses lessons
    in between
    her

    teaches as he
    takes

    candy wrappers
    don't
    talk back.

Sure candy wrappers don't talk back but neither do puppets on a string. And, the guy holding the string is gorging and feasting and has eyes and intentions for no one else but himself. Caterino thanks for getting my brain juices flowing and my senses salivating.

so is it you who uses silence to guard you via an objectified thing, or the wrapper that uses silence to guard itself against your subjective self? i clearly dont get it. too little words, and my mind plays with it. i like your style though. please give me a more thorough explannation, your last one was much like your poems. as you can see, i talk too much to get my point across, or try to. thus, i like more substance, more tries to get it, cuz you folks are on another spiritual level than me. i await your reply and also your feedback on how well i explained my poem to you.

This poem belongs to a series of writings i've been working on in an attempt to deal with difficult subjects(in this case-child abuse) trying to find a formula that remains innocent, yet struggles on a level of maturity forced on many who are victimized.

story of my life. i usually don't go for free verse, but this one really says something to me. and i love it...awsome.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
