    The Joys of Being a Ball

     Bringing joy to children
    Is my lot in life
    Through out my day
    I jump from place to place
    I roll around trying to get away
    "Leave me alone!" I scream
    They do not hear me
    For I have no face

    Peaceful nights are
    My dreamscape
    Bouncing to the ground
    To propell myself higher

    Shaken awake
    By tiny grasping fingers
    They are attracted to my color
    They slobber on me as
    They gnaw on my
    Bright red surface

    Slipping from their clutches
    Giggling as I roll away
    Just to bounce another day.

    You follow the old addege, ( become one with the ball ). Made me smile, yet cheering for the ball to escape. LOL Good stuff.

    Yeah I channeled my son when he was little, laughing everytime his "bouncy ball" got away from him. Good times! Thank you for your comment.

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
