    What Do You See...

    When you

    Look in a mirror

    And see the truth.

    The shadows in your eyes

    The sadness in your smile

    Your life written

    Upon your face

    For the world to see.

     

    The path you have chosen

    Written in the lines

    Around your eyes

    Showing the journey

    Was a rough one.

     

    Life is long

    Life is tough

    But only if your

    Willing to live it.

     

    Worth every line

    Every shadow

    Every sadness

    For just an ounce

    Of the joy of life.

    It's not vanity It's Egomania...THAT DAMN MIRROR HAS TO GO...When I look at you make me feel tall, take away all the wrinkles I see, and everything else that is wrong with me. Give me that look that will make me glow, if you don't you'll have to go. Hell, your only function is to cover that ugly hole in the wall... ... It's bad enough that we have to grow old but to have a piece of glass to remind us of every wrinkle, every line and every shadow is devastating. Sorry your poem reminded me of a poem I wrote when I was too young to know that growing old is not that bad. Great write enjoyed with great delight. LOL,BDC

    I agree. The mirror doesn't lie. When you look at your reflection, it's a window to your soul. What do you see? I actually had two poems inspired by the mirror. Behind an Old Man's Eyes...Old Man In The Mirror. Wonderful write, TS

    Ain't this the truth. Sometimes people think life is just a bowl of cherries, and then they bite into the stone. We have to take the good with the bad. I place a golden star on your forehead for this one. I'm still wondering about your photo.

    Life could be a personal luxury that one can have, only when all pain and anguish are eliminated. Until then, every positive thought becomes your hostage, slaying your courage, corrupting your judgement. Your sentiments are very well conveyed. Great job.
