"TRY A LITTLE KINDNESS"

Poem Commentary

This happened on a Tuesday after I returned from a Verterans clinic. I wasn't feeling happy inside. It made my day to help these out, as the waitress Mother died last Chistmas day and her Grandma two days before her sons birthday. I also give to the homeless as I've been there myself more than once and was given a $5.00 and told don't let this die, pass it on. I've been loyal to that. I seek no praise or boasting, as we all should live like this. Sam

"TRY A LITTLE KINDNESS"

Try a little kindness,
You may make someone's day?
If your feeling down and low,
It may help you along the way.
Live a sweet young girl at Pizza Hut,
Who said everyone's been rude,
Said I'm the only one who's been kind,
All other's were so crude.
I talked to her just like a friend,
After paying I had a buck.
I gave her it as a tip,
She said she felt such luck.
I went to another store,
While waiting for my Pizza to be done,
A girl of maybe 13 and boy in cart of 6?
Cashier said $15.00 was not enough
As she was putting things back one by one.
She handed her a bag of chips siad down to $17.00.
And took the boys candy bar, I saw it was so hard.
I told the cashier to put back everything.
Give me the $15.00 and I'll put it all on my card.
This made the young girl happy,
I received a quite thank you.
The cashier said she's never seen that before,
It made her feel brand new.
I went back to get my Pizza,
And gave the girl a little more of a tip,
She said she wouldn't take it.
But I saw a smile on her lip.
She came around the corner,
Gave me a great big hug.
I hadn't had a good day till then,
As I was feeling smug.
So try a little kindness,
You may help more than one's day?
Like the cashier at the other store,
Who's never seen another pay.
So if you see a homeless person.
Holding a sign trying to stay alive.
Don't lie and give them your change,
Saying it's all I have, please give them a five.
Try a little kindness,
It may just make your day.

God bless and thank you so much. It's the only reason I posted it. If I made one person think to help another I'm a winner already. Blessings,,,Sam

Random acts of kindness can and do go much further than we will ever know, all the way to heaven and back- being multiplied. Typos don't take anything away fro this beautiful message, only make it that much more real, as were your actions. I can relate, thanks for sharing, never know about a win, be well

Kd. I've won if I've left an impression on just one person to try a little kindness. I also finally had a me day yesterday as we had an all class High School Reunion yesterday. I'm paying for it from pain, but it's worth the fun I finally had after so many years of home and business. Thanks for your kind comment. It's appreciated,,,Your friend,,,Sam.

Mary. Thank you. If I could see good it wouldn't have all the typo's. I read=read it and messed up big time in some words. But it's a message. Alan Boles said it inspired him to keep writing. If it helps just one person, mission accoplished. I pray your ok? Was worried as I haven't heard from you. I plan on adding it to the bridge and double, triple my spelling. I can remember the looks on their faces still. It brightened my day. I know you spread kindness as were alike in that way. Peace and blessings to you. I don't expect to win, but I don't really care as long as it helps people stop and think? Lovingly,,,Sam.
