    "His Lump Of Clay"

    All I have are memories
    Memories of my past
    Relationships that made me smile
But none of them would last
Now my heart knows no joy
    It's sorrow every day
And to the God that I once loved
    No longer do I pray
I no longer see a future
The days they just go by
    Movies with happy endings
    They always make me cry
Why my birth into this world?
No reason for me to be
What is my purpose on the Earth
    If I can't be happy?
"Oh Well', I have been molded
    From His lump of clay
Can the pot say to the potter
Why am I made this way?

       Sam K. Dyer.

Sam your poetry is engaging and talks about feelings in real life and there is plenty of music in those lyrics and I do wish joy and bliss for you daily. Do you know the hymn about the potter (Jesus) and his creation....I don't remember the words but the tune just appeared as I read your bittersweet poetry. But, I know you are doing okay because from your poems I can see you have respect and love for the maker of this universe. I even remember the beautiful picture you made of a mother in another of your poems. All the best this coming holiday and may it be the most special....just for you.

Exceptional ending, trully exceptional, interogativ, pure like a scream toward humankind. I'm not so sure about the "road" who is reaching the final philosophical question, verses who doesn't sustain the "belcanto" of the poem. Adriano

Thank you so kindly. I will get to your poetry as I am able. I'm currently very busy planning a trip to D.C. Sam.

Bravo...this is really a good piece. Great ending like the hook of song...

Thank you. I'm also a songwriter. I was moving up in the acting biz, but my compassion is writing. U R my first comment. Again thanks. Sam.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
