    • No matter how hard I try to let him go, his grasp on my heart is too tight!

    What we cannot have

     He loves me,
    Yet here isn't where I want to be. 
    But by your side,
    Is where I wish to reside
    Your heart belongs to her,
    This much I can concur
    Why is it we always want the ones who don't want us?
    All the while settling & hoping our hearts adjusts. 
    Adjusts to loving yet not loved in return,
    Yet there IS someone whom for us they yearn!
    If you'd only imagine a life of being loved every second of your life, 
    A life without the everyday struggles & strifes. 
    I could give you that with every breath I take, 
    Because my love for you is the one thing I cannot shake.

    Its OK it could use meter work and imagery otherwise well done and keep it up because no matter what anyone says poetry is just emotion on paper. If it looks and or sound pretty then that's just a bonus

    love does not always work out I was married twice the first on lasted six months. My second one I been married 27 years and don't regret a moment.
