    You

I stood there when you walked into the room
My heart literly skipped a beat
Your muscular build, your handsome looks
All clean-cut and dressed so neat

    You walked up behind me
    There, you quietly stand
    You reached down beside me
And took me by the hand.

    A careless whisper
A soft, deep voice within my ear
    Saying all the magical things
    My heart wants to hear

    I feel your strong hand,
As you gently touch my cheek
    Making my heart melt so
    And my knees so weak

I turned and looked deep into your eyes
And fell completely under your spell
I thought my heart leaped from my chest
    But I couldn't really tell.

    As you leaned towards me
Your soft tender lips passionately met mine
My heart stopped, the world stood still
It was a moment froze in time.

I've never felt in my heart
The way you make me feel
    All the romance and tenderness
    It all seems so real

Your only a fantasy in my mind,
A dream I want to come true
If it takes the rest of my life
I'll spend it searching for you..

Wow, reading this poem was a real experience and no fantasy. I sure did relate to the words and the nuances thereof and swore that someone had read my mind........and discovered the secret love of my life. Quite a feat, haskins. I know that this piece of poetry was tagged as fantasy but I definitely was transported to that time (your fantasy) and it became a real memory lived and relived by me. May you be lucky as I was and find the person in that fantasy you wrote of. Although, I am not sure it was only a fantasy you shared......I believe you shared with us your true love........and may you enjoy that love forever. Amen

I loved this. Londo's poem Reply To You and his comment for your poem stirred my curiosity. I'm glad it did. Beautifully written. I hope your dream comes true. TS

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
