    Poem Commentary

longing, wanting, dreaming, never to be

    Beyond the dawn

To the east a living sun rises hot. Awake I, too, must abide the dawn. Leaving behind a dream of what Most I desire and to that aspire not. Lying beyond my hope so unreachable. It lives in a fog thick and darkly dense. Dream then of a desire so laudable In honest nobility swells immense. In a harsh revealing light of coming day Dreams fade, save this so encompassing. Persistent and disturbing, longs to stay Beyond the dawn, beyond awakening. Little does she ever know or truly feel But to me this dream remains so real.

    Ever post losing formatting...very frustrating.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
