Chaos Reigns Over Me

Poem Commentary

Yeah, I wrote this when I had a mini break down, but didn't have enough time to indulge in a full break down. So I quickly wrote something of this sort, to help calm my nerves. Yay college!

Chaos Reigns Over Me

This chaos that reigns,
commendering every crevice known to my soul,
stealing all the light,
all the peace.
The blackness oozing over.
coating me to the core.
The hope, the love,
drenched with festering filth.
My sanity, each cord,
used to be gently strummed,
now plucked and broken.
Snap, snap, snap.
I want to scream,
to hear the savage voice
echo off the nothingness that consumes me.
The every day needs
that bear down my shoulders,
holds my centered disposition,
while chaos reigns over me.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
