Encounter of an Armored Heart
Someone once told me they had no roomdefeated by sadness and lost into doom
so young and so tragic
I couldn't believe
how much heart they put into their fight
it seemed whoever hurt them had no right
So much heart, yet in all the wrong battles
they picked up their sword and got into their saddle
insignificant armor they thought did protect
but bled and bled, until, on the ground, they wept
saddened by the sight I moved by their side
whispering words that might their soul ignite
lost in translation, though, the words they blew
into caverns of their heart and it's defenses they drew,
pebbles I saw were meant for bricks
around that heart of which the thorns of sadness prick
Light did enter, though, through its unblalanced seams
and I could see how beautiful the heart, oh how it sheened!
Lost in it's beauty I fought back
not knowing that heart didn't need an attack
just a loving gesture
and a kind gentle touch
is all it needs
to see life as such.
