Taken
I sat there just watching,I saw you walking in.
No one seemed to bother,
you were tattered and torn.
My heart ached at the sight of you.
I searched your deepening eyes
I sat and saw.
And I stood and sighed.
Uncomfortable in your presence
The people they just left.
I couldn't define your essence.
Something about you-- blessed.
A worried brow
old and knowing eyes
Searching for us
yet we despised.
You know our hearts
you knew the hurt,
a brother here?
I saw that look
As you shed your jacket
revealing beautiful light
They knew your presence
and on their knees in fright.
They knew just what they did.
Igoring your needing glance
no heartfelt gesture
no loving hand
they felt the sorrow
as you raised your hands
Spread across and fastened tight
the blood that trickled down
pain endured with all your might
For our sake you were bound
The cross you bore
for our souls to soar,
a token of your heart
the reason your life was for
Beautiful you became
in an instant loving light
defeating darkness
and restoring sight.
You rose from the ground
with a gentle blessed wind
your cloak wrapped 'round
your body healed
In awe I watched you
an army of angels
surround you.
A deep breath,
I see myself,
I catch a glimpse
of the old beaten earth
Taken away from all the sorrow
In eternity
no time is borrowed.
