A Soul of One in Two Bodies

    Can't you hear my whispers?
    Calling to your heart
I know you hear it in the night
    you're my other part

    Desperate for your comfort
    you presence belongs to me
as I wait for your acceptence
    my soul belongs to thee

    Our connection bridged again
    oceans and miles apart
    I found you once again
    I wondered where you've been.

I felt you move across the world
    every little step you took
    I held my breath, waiting
    just for you to look

    We were once but one
    broken into two
    forced to search and wander
    I've been looking for you

My dark eyes you will see
catch my gaze, setting you free
    whole and one again
    this bond has always been

Since before the tick of time
    one soul was made sublime
    but somehow torn apart
through death our souls have fought

    I was a Roman soldier
    you were an Egyptian princess
    We were Shakespearean characters
    Our mortal deaths were witnessed

Now I'm here and you are there
I whisper your soul's given name
Our dark eyes reflect as if the same
Now speak out loud my given name!

Time we have 'til come again
    death's unforgiving spliting hand
We'll search again and wander near
'Til our connection once again is clear.

omg paint this is so beautiful I so know the theory that is just like this poem such an amazing write and very passionate had some great powerful lines within it as well as always your work leaves me in awe youa re a true artist in so many ways

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
