The Bleeding Rose
I saw the barren lands of the earthand I knew the loneliness of it's glory
I thought this is my solemn fate
I will embrace my solitary story
I forged through comfortless deserts
I slept in dark and haunting ruins
through a hapless dream I wandered
when suddenly I saw thorns by the millions
On my knees I felt defeated
no beauty, no rest, no welcoming soul
my eyes took in the atmosphere's raging walls
under stress, I detested Hell's watering hole
In a heated valley
full of unmerciful sand
a bleeding rose
did unwaiveringly stand
It grew from the tears of my sad adventure
innocent tears cried for cruel bloody scenes
despite the salt from the endless ocean
the sad place that produces beautiful dreams
created this pristine honest thing.
It bleeds from the pain of the hardened earth
weeping for the lost and it's shadowy defeat
yet the sunrays it captures in its glowing color
a blazing red; this beautiful magnificent flower
Subtle sweet perfume filled my soul with happiness
I found a diamond of the desert
I found a treasure from the deep
an unspoken secret kept safe by Heaven's gates.
Found in the dismal dunes of despair
never would have thought to seek comfort there
a beautiful life yet to fully unfurl
it whispers of love, it's words precious as pearls.
I set my life to comfort its grace
for all it needs is a loving embrace.
No longer will I suffer from ugly heat
For beauty's sake is the only reason I weep.
