Poem Commentary

God gave me gentle nudges which I ignored, then one day he gave me a giant push which could not be ignored. My life changed from that point on.

IN THE TWINKLING OF HIS EYE

IN THE TWINKLING OF HIS EYE

You have long ignored his warnings

Lived a sugar coated lie

But God came and changed your thinking

In the twinkling of his eye

You wondered long and often

Why your status was denied

The Lord gave you his answer

And God doesn’t compromise

Alone you’ll feel the darkness

On whom will you rely?

Since he has ordered this for you

Don’t dare to question why

It’s now time to take the high road

Leave the low road by and by

Fear not, God has moved the mountains

In the twinkling of his eye.

A very spiritual write indeed. Very nicely written and the frhyming and flow are great! ...I wrote a similar poem called The Awakening - it is written in the same vein. I hope you check it out. Thanks for sharing this very inspirational piece. :) Ken

God was trying to tell me something. I had become very good at ignoring him but like the poem says, he came and changed my thinking in the twinking of his eye.

Glad you liked this one. For me it is so personal, he came and changed my thinking in the twinling of his eye.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
