     why they took you i already know
    you left me here with nothing to show
    you told me you loved me and YOU said forever
    but now my heart beats with out you
    i really dont know if i can go on
    i will do the best i can
    in hope that some day i will see you agien
    and it really will be forever

    i think this poem is about your daughter, but in the third line you appear to be talking about a guy. other than this uncertainty, i liked the poem.

    it was to a guy i was with that went to jail.

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
