    PEACHES AND CREAM

    “PEACHES AND CREAM”

    Times were rolling
    Fifties and sixties
    American Bandstand
    AH! Rock and Roll.

    Fast cars, flat tops,
Bobbie socks, loafers and blue jeans
Going steady, his ring around your neck
    AH! Peaches and Cream.

    Cruising Saturday night
    Was the thing
    Let the good times roll
    Everything Peaches and Cream

    Bound to happen---change
    End of good times
    Vanished were the days
    Of Peaches and Cream.

    Um! Peaches and Cream
    Memories …
    They flood my soul
    Days of Peaches and Cream.

Ah yes, the yester-years and how "Peaches and Cream was the sweet by and by. We all go there when we get older. This is sweet. A new friend, Sally

Greetings again, Brenda. Not sure if you like Rock - especially the latest stuff, but this poem reminded me of Beck's "Peaches and Cream" from Midnight Vultures, @ 1997. Check it out right quick at amazon. I'm a music freak, so I couldn't resist mentioning this. Personally, I'd opt for the land of peaches and cream over milk and honey - but then there's strawberry fields too! And I love Honey Bees. Choices, lol! This poem is a rich serving of yesteryear, and just as current as ever! Sweet write!! Btw, feel free to give my poems a once-over. Ty.

No one longs for nostalgia like the mind beginning to forget. I'm not sure what peaches and cream was then, a fashion statement, or a complexion compliment, but there is something timeless about the savory smoothness of peaches and cream.

Harver, thank you for your comment of my poem peaches and cream. it is a nostalgia poem pertaining to complexion and mostly just couldn't get any better than the smooth taste of peaches and cream. thank you.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
