    WINDING ROADS

    “WINDING ROADS”

    In a life time
    Many winding roads
    We chose to travel
Knowing not what is at the end.

    Beautiful---Scenic
    Winding and pleasurable
    Pasting creation quickly
    Deep into life we journeyed.

    Treacherous the winding road turns
    Pitfalls and ugliness
    Newness of beauty changed
    In time the road twisted.

    Trudging on at best
    The road ends
    Standing at the edge
    Facing no return.

    Shattered and broken
    Looking about for reason
The beautiful winding road gave way
    To such an ugly end.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
