When The Rain Came Down
When the rain came downI saw a piece of heaven
It fell down onto my cheek
I haven't felt anything real like that in a week
Too cold from the winter chill
Wasted and broken from a cheap little thrill
Walking the streets alone gives you time to think
Time to think about devious technique
When it all falls down nothing is left
All you can do is take a breath
Try to figure out how to get back
Anything is better than living in the fast track
I know a kid who lost his father
I can say I know how he feels because apart of him died
When he walked out the door so did the lies
This kid is only ten years old
But he knows how it feels when your soul gets cold
Only ten years old
Since when do we have to grow up and face this cold world?
Why do we wish for things that we can never have?
What's the meaning of being low when you can get high?
Taking my little piece of heaven
Taking it and being oblivious
I hate how misconceptions can become obvious
Like the unborn child my brothers wifey's carrying
Only fifteen years old
Thats a scary thought
But you can't say it's not happening
Take a look at the city
All the little kids in the streets
When they could be getting lessons
Not just about drugs but about life
Tell me, God, where did we go wrong?
I tried and tried but everything seems like the saddest song
You and I had an understanding
Until you dropped a piece of heaven onto me
Now I'm confused.
