Poem Commentary

what lies deep within is not always revealed on our skin.

a fetus in a clear bowling ball

<>

a fetus in a bowling ball
tossed right down the rolling hall
4-3-2-1
smiling but this isn't fun
loud in here aborted sleep
the devil's placed my troubles deep
pins, needles, broken arms
this outer shell remains unharmed
i spin upset my stomach turns
with words unsaid my throat it burns
my head is crowned my spine is twine
spun from tales of tamer times
a fetus in a bowling ball
legions of seizures fall into fall.

I don't completely understand it, but I think it is good. Kinda topsy turvie hectic poem.

I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote this and returned to bed. it was such a weird time and I am not really sure what I meant by it but basically, it's about EVERYONE being able to see your flaws and vulnerabilities and viciously exploiting them.

So much can be read into this. Yes, it seems you had some hectic times.

As an epileptic I have to say that I don't blame my dad for not watching when the horse stepped on my head I doubt your child has/will blame you either. It was not your fault no one asked for this. At least this happened at birth and they didn't know what it was like to be without seizures (I did and it haunts me to this day of what could have been knowing how I was before) but they will not know what was before they will just accept it as fate don't beat yourself up over this things happen. Join Turn the White House Purple for Epilepsy on Facebook they are an amazing support. And there are hundreds of kinds of seizures I had partial complex where i kind of sleep walk I'm mobile and talking I just don't respond. There is absant where you just stare into space for a couple minutes and theres the dreaded grand mal where you fall and shake uncontrolable but those are more rare tahn you think. Most likely they will have one of the more minor forms and there is a medication that works for everyone it just takes time I promise you this is not your fault don't beat yourself up over this.

Interesting poem-the tone is heavy, somber- the speaker is wracked with guilt, suffering, tortured- because" this outer shell remains unharmed." Well done.

This read to me like a tortured soul of Abortion....the links to it where almost too poetic and much more realized than idea of the act....kind of deep and sad at the same time....a glimpse into the questions normally placed at the crossroads of indecision and right and wrong....but then again....I do seem to have a darker imagination than most....either way....this was a very expressive and moving write....Nicely written my friend....Cher

it is intended to be dark and forboding. it is from a nightmare regarding regrets of mistakes.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
