    Poem Commentary

    last summer, i watched a june bug stumble over cracks in the hot city sidewalk. i came up with this poem 5 minutes later....weird huh ?

    the june bug

    here comes spring and summer
    all hot
    with passions exposed and raw
    this mating season ;
    where fights break out among the men
    and the women hate each other in silence
    sex and love and lust
    so spontaneous
    yet
    clumsy like the june bug
    that in its haste
    trips over its own appendages
    and stumbles with the burden of a body
    its own body.
