flight on time

Poem Commentary

Dedicated to my friends Bree and Chernold.

flight on time

<>

i am backing up
crushing old skulls and bones
as i move

i am backing up
treading upon old love letters
that got the better
                   of me

i am backing up
tripping the traps that snare
and cursing the demons that dare
                   to hold this man down

i am backing up
to get that running start
before i throw myself into the clouds
and fly again with hope filled heart

First off....I'm so flattered and filled with smiles at the dedication....(unless you didn't misspell my name and its to someone else)....lol....it truly means a lot to me....THANK YOU.....now...as for the write itself....I love the idea of taking stock and then reclaiming your life....as the young folks say..."Dust it Off"...or..."Dust your Clothes Off"...Lol...or something like that...this had a great take charge approach with a map back to Strength of....Who you are...its a great message and it flowed fluently....this will go in my Favs, for your Nod to me....Humbly...Cher

I get it. Ghost from our past can cause us to stumble, but if we face are demons no matter what they are, it makes it easier to see our future more clearly. u r very talented and ur future is yours..... Cant wait to see where WE go from here, much Luv Bree xoxo

Stepping back into the past to remember lessons learned for the future. Nice job!

Exactly...not too deep or complex a poem in nature of delivery , it is more of a reminder to myself to stay focused and look forward. Thanks, Ex!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
