    violent pretty

    my broken-hearted pretty
    my violent jersey city
    you sit by the sea
    and pay for your beauty with blood
    your strength is not in some feigned story
    but in a real and stronger glory
    however
    the tunnels spit out the devil
    revealing him upon your dimly lit streets 
    the devil is here
    he is here
    to fuel the blunt force drama
    he is here
    to add insult to the trauma

    eyes never dry in a violent city

    the money floods in
    but flows out and then
    my broken-hearted pretty
    explodes again

    This brought tears to my eyes.....I'm not ever sure exactly why....I just know that my emotions were stroked with an icy glove with velvet lining....nice....Cher
