A Thousand Times
I could lift my face a thousand times to the sun,
and it would never grow old.
Seems;
I would never grow old.
Eternity,
slow and creeping like a slug
until it dries up in the mid-day glare,
never arriving at the next destination
Sediments of life
-layer upon layer of hardened emotion,
plethora of new discoveries
and great lessons hard-learned;
Immensity of knowledge to be found.
Body and soul sing, harmonizing a melody,
dancing a delicate dance
of renewed love and total awe
at magnificent everyday wonders;
In haste, so easily overlooked then altogether forgotten...
Undeserving of such freedom;
Feel as though head is not attached to body
and soul has gone in search of the key
that will unlock the gates
to far-off enlightenment.
Suddenly forgiven for the sins in which anguish lay;
And priveledged with such amazing total joy...
to take from this what I can before it should
cease.
and it would never grow old.
Seems;
I would never grow old.
Eternity,
slow and creeping like a slug
until it dries up in the mid-day glare,
never arriving at the next destination
Sediments of life
-layer upon layer of hardened emotion,
plethora of new discoveries
and great lessons hard-learned;
Immensity of knowledge to be found.
Body and soul sing, harmonizing a melody,
dancing a delicate dance
of renewed love and total awe
at magnificent everyday wonders;
In haste, so easily overlooked then altogether forgotten...
Undeserving of such freedom;
Feel as though head is not attached to body
and soul has gone in search of the key
that will unlock the gates
to far-off enlightenment.
Suddenly forgiven for the sins in which anguish lay;
And priveledged with such amazing total joy...
to take from this what I can before it should
cease.
