    BLUE

    Exhale for the first time in centuries;
    I am nauseas to the touch.
    Sun is just another star to me;
    Do they think that they are bright?
    Not every cloud has a silver lining...
    Hey shiny! Would you please move out of the way!?!
    Breathe in some stale pollution
    and some rare human kindness;
    Ask why-
    And the reply?
    Likely "I don't know."
    Say my prayers
    not my explanations;
    Pay my dues
    not your charity;
    Give an inch...
    Run a mile without water
    on a hamster wheel
    just to take a breath
    - to keep from turning blue.

    Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
