Enjoy the Surf
Stare out into oblivion
of the golden path dancing
toward the sun at dusk.
Like diamonds under yellow chandeliars;
Floating atop the choppy seas
that lie between us.
Once imprisoned within
the open iron gates in a
cathedral of loveless years.
Saints converted;
Conscientous thoughts diverted
by all those wasted tears.
Numb almost and giggling
stupid and stoned.
Smiling back into the faces of
ever-smiling misery masks...
And treading in a current of bitter past
that just threatens to sweep me away;
Only your current is a little stronger
than a mountain of that.
A storm of confusion is somewhere out at sea, babe...
So let's just enjoy the surf.
of the golden path dancing
toward the sun at dusk.
Like diamonds under yellow chandeliars;
Floating atop the choppy seas
that lie between us.
Once imprisoned within
the open iron gates in a
cathedral of loveless years.
Saints converted;
Conscientous thoughts diverted
by all those wasted tears.
Numb almost and giggling
stupid and stoned.
Smiling back into the faces of
ever-smiling misery masks...
And treading in a current of bitter past
that just threatens to sweep me away;
Only your current is a little stronger
than a mountain of that.
A storm of confusion is somewhere out at sea, babe...
So let's just enjoy the surf.
