    Arches

    ARCHES

    Arches National Park is great

    It’s in Moab, Utah state

Grandson and I went there last week

Hiking some of its trails is not for the weak

At the first scenic view we paused to halt

To see the vastness of the Moab fault

The Park Avenue trail was the next to see

    Those towering monoliths astounded me

Then later on the left were the Three Gossips so high

Opposite the Courthouse towers reaching to the sky

Then petrified sand dunes spread out to the east

They were certainly ancient to say the least

Next on the way was Balanced Rock

The trail around it made a pleasant walk

Then North and South Windows through which we could see

    God’s landscape so spectacularly

To see Delicate Arch was top on our list

Utah’s symbol not to be missed

With two quarts of water we started up the trail

‘Fore reaching the top my energy would fail

Grandson made it all the way

He took some nice pics so he could say

I did it Grampie, just for you

So these photographs you could view

Hot and exhausted we paused to eat

And give some relief to our weary feet

Sand Dune and Broken arches were not to be seen

    Construction there would intervene

Devil’s Garden was at the end of the park road

It is Landscape Arch’s eternal abode

Tunnel and Pine Tree Arches were along the way

Though which was which was hard to say

At the end of the path Landscape Arch was near

Long and thin and very sheer

Well that’s our trip I thought I’d share

Then perhaps you might go there
