Peace
My soul longs, some peace to acquire.
It looks to God, with hope he may inspire.
It searches daily and tries to attain
That inner calm it's sought in vain.
Jesus, I'm told, gives peace to you,
But what, I ask, am I to do
To gain this ethereal ecstasy
That is real and not a fantasy?
Prayer, it is said, will do it for sure.
Talk to Jesus, more and more.
Make this a part of your daily life.
An end it will put to spiritual strife.
Others say study, so do it each day.
Look to the Word to end the fray
With wisdom comes a sense of peace.
The struggle will end, the turmoil cease.
Some say meditation is the thing
To earn the peace you want to bring
Into your heart. It's the only way.
Do it my friend, do it every day.
Psychology seems the answer for some.
Seek professional help, and then it will come.
Periodic counsel will give to your mind
The only true peace that you can find.
The arts provide for many, I'm told
That jubilant feeling more valued than gold.
The feelings inside, just waiting to get out.
Exercise your senses, let your emotions shout.
All these I've tried to some degree,
Actually use them diligently,
So far only Christ can bring
That peace beyond all understanding.
It looks to God, with hope he may inspire.
It searches daily and tries to attain
That inner calm it's sought in vain.
Jesus, I'm told, gives peace to you,
But what, I ask, am I to do
