    BLESSED

Blessed are those whose spirit is poor
    God's Kingdom is theirs forevermore
By this they've passed through eternity's door
Now rich with what their King has in store

Blessed are the ones who mourn
For their loved ones who've been reborn
By them black clothing need not be worn
For God's Comforter is with them every morn

Blessed are those who are meek
    Their inheritance is most unique
They need not want nor riches seek
This earth is theirs week after week

Blessed are those who for righteousness thirst
They shall be filled if they seek for this first
Their life and ways are never cursed
On them shall God's glory ever burst

Blessed are those who have mercy on all
On them shall God's mercy ever fall
It's theirs when ever on God they call
Whoever they are, the great or the small

Blessed are the pure in heart
From God's presence they'll never depart
His holy vision to them He'll impart
Oh what a glorious God thou are

    Blessed are the peacemakers too
Too bad  there's only a few
What we need is a whole slew
As sons of God, not just one or two
