    Cliffhanger

    You watch the story unfold,
    Entangled in the plot,
You know how you want it to end,
    Rooting for that unlikely couple,
Getting so involved the more you watch,

    You see the passion,
    Why do they fight it?
And, why does something always seem to get in the way?
    Whether fiction or reality,
Isn't that how life often goes?

Right as the story reaches it's climax,
And you're on the edge of your seat,
Just waiting to see how it's going to play out,
Hoping it turns out the way you want,
They leave you without an end,

    The cliffhanger,
    Teasing you,
    Making you wait,
    Leaving you to wonder,
How will it all play out?

I guess we'll just to wait and see,
Stay tuned for when the series returns,
After making you wait for what seems like a lifetime,
    It will all be revealed,
Until then, we'll just have to wait and see.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
