Good-bye to You
Stranded on a desert,
All alone,
Searching,
Wanting,
Needing,
I started to think I'd die,
If you didn't love me,
Like I love you,
My heart began to hallucinate,
Seeing things I wanted to see,
Fantasy became reality in my mind,
I saw what I wanted to see,
I thought I needed you to complete me,
Without you,
My heart was torn in two,
But, I know now that I was only pretending,
And, I found a way out of the desert,
I was woken from my reverie,
Reality is where I need to be,
Time to shut the book on my fairytale,
I don't need anyone to define me,
I define myself,
No longer searching,
Wanting,
Or needing you,
I can make it on my own,
I guess the truth is,
I always have been able to,
I just didn't see it,
But, I can see clearly now,
One last look over my shoulder,
Just one last look,
To say good-bye,
To my dreams,
And, to you.
All alone,
Searching,
Wanting,
Needing,
I started to think I'd die,
If you didn't love me,
Like I love you,
My heart began to hallucinate,
Seeing things I wanted to see,
Fantasy became reality in my mind,
I saw what I wanted to see,
I thought I needed you to complete me,
Without you,
My heart was torn in two,
But, I know now that I was only pretending,
And, I found a way out of the desert,
I was woken from my reverie,
Reality is where I need to be,
Time to shut the book on my fairytale,
I don't need anyone to define me,
I define myself,
No longer searching,
Wanting,
Or needing you,
I can make it on my own,
I guess the truth is,
I always have been able to,
I just didn't see it,
But, I can see clearly now,
One last look over my shoulder,
Just one last look,
To say good-bye,
To my dreams,
And, to you.
