United We Stand
United we stand,
Divided we fall,
But, many fail to see that,
They live in their own little worlds,
Unaware of what goes on,
Ignorance indeed must be bliss,
A wife cheats on her husband,
A child mugs an old man,
Friends turn on friends,
A battered girlfriend lies on the floor covered in blood,
A daughter is being molested by her own father,
And, we live in a world that does nothing,
Many hear the fighting going on upstairs,
And, they say it's not their business,
But, when the man ends up dead,
They start to think maybe they should have said something,
Silence in a world full of pain,
Is letting it happen,
We all say we want peace,
But, what do we do to try and find it?
If we stepped up to the plate,
When chaos ensued,
If we bothered to care for mankind,
Things would be so much different,
Some do care, but it seems like not enough,
Many are content to live in ignorance,
And, that is pretty pathetic,
We come together for Katrina and 9/11,
But, as the dust settles,
People go back to their own lives,
It's good to take care of yourself and your family,
But, should we just leave it at that?
You don't have to try to save the world alone,
But, if we each try to help out even a few people,
It's a start,
And, a start is something,
United we stand.
Divided we will fall,
And, fall hard.
Divided we fall,
But, many fail to see that,
They live in their own little worlds,
Unaware of what goes on,
Ignorance indeed must be bliss,
A wife cheats on her husband,
A child mugs an old man,
