    Falling

She was 2 years old on the living room floor
walking around with out a care in the world
that little girl fell the hardest
over the leg of an old coffee table
    leaving nothing but a scratch.

She as 6 years old on her brand new bike
no training wheels today & shes riding around
that little girl fell the hardest
over a crack in the pavement
    leaving nothing but a scratch.

She was 10 years old, running in the yard
feeling free and proud to be in double-digits
that little girl fell the hardest
over a stone among the grass
    leaving nothing but a scratch.

She was 14 years old with a new crowd of friends
Drugs were her passion and she couldn't control it
that poor little girl fell the hardest
    when Mother found her 'stash'
leaving nothing but a scratch and a lesson learned.

She was 15 years old sitting with along time friend
so caught in the moment, now shes all grown up
that little girl fell the hardest
    when he never called again
and when he bragged to all his friends
leaving nothing but a poor little girl with a shattered little heart.

You are a talented poetry writer and when I read your poems I feel the pain you have felt as if I was there at your side. I was that little girl the same as you were, I feel the pain as if it was just the other day. I just wanted you to know that you are so not alone. I will be a real friend to you. Seriously! wow!!!! This poem is very deep. It sounds like you have been through a lot. I wish i could express myself as well as you can. Its very hard for me to let out my emotions, i just let everything build up to the point that i get really depressed and thats why ive turned back to poetry. Its something you can do for your self and to show others how you feel but at the same time it can really make you feel better. The drugs i can relate to you and my mom finding my bag of weed. My mom was crying, i al

I really enjoyed this one. You remained true to your theme and the poem actually went somewhere. Good effort!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
