From A Boy To A Man
He once broguht pain to those he claimed to love,
For he was just a boy in a grown mans body,
And not yet learned to become a man.
When he got upset he would lose control,
Scream and Yell at the ones he loved
Berate and Belittle, Push and Shove
Till he got his way.
The pain and torment he caused he could not see,
For he was just a blind little boy
Who could not see beyond his own wants and need,
And so not yet a man.
The day soon came when his wife had enough,
The pain and torment she could no longer take.
So she left and moved out on her own
No longer willing to live with a boy,
Not Yet a man.
Knowing he needed help
He joined a program for those who batter and abuse,
His wife gone his heart broken,
And for the first time he realised the depth
Of the pain and torment he caused.
And the boys heart filled with Shame
At what he had done,
For he had just taken the first step
Toward becoming a man.
He remained in the program until completed,
The counseling he continues to receive.
As day by day he begins to see more
Through the eyes of others,
And the Compassion in his heart grows more
With each passing day,
As the little boy, Finally Grows into a Man....
