Heart of Darkness

Heart of Darkness

Deep echoes rattle in this chamber of despair,
Ship wrecked oaken vessel,
This heart of darkness,
Mine to bear,
Red rose dripping blood,
...........melancholy blue,

In this suffering dark and true?

Cupid's arrow piercing,
Cold steel does tear,
Trapped on this lonely isle,
Abandoned... prison lair,

Spike through tender flesh... spirit... soul,
Agony now gripping,
Pain out of control,

I call to the Dragon Goddess,
Divine enemy of the Cupid,

She does take to filght,
Love, The Deus-ease alone,
Is hard to fight,

Coming through the bonfire,
On wings beautiful black,
This goddess finds me,
Laying on my back,

Ravens fly,
Air too heavy to see,
Such suffering,
How can this pain be?

Milky breast to my face,
Her silk heart beats to me,

Ambrosia words,
In my spirit heard,

Showing me her nether reaches,
Creation and healing hers,
You see,

Taking this pain,
Mortal thoughts do blur,
Comforting, she says,

"True human love is rare,
Once found it rarely lasts,
Live with hope for the moment,
Learn from lessons past,

Enjoy it while its there,
For as long as you have it,
Show your heart does care,

Begin to seek again,
In not doing so,
Evil wins,

Continue. like all mortals,
Over love.... to despair..."

So go the solitary mortals,
Fools that we are,
Meant to be in pairs,

Internal.. burning.. aware,
Suffering the divine malady,

Agony from love never far.....
