    In The Past

    Here I am again
    Alone with the pain
    Here I am alone
    Again

    In my loneliness
Your memory to my heart I press
Hoping you can feel my love somehow

I can't go back and change what is
Memories are a kind of prison
It's in the past that you will always be

So take me back there if you can
So I can take you by the hand
And show to you what will never be

    The walks we never had
    The hand I never held
The love I never shared with you

"Memories are a kind of prison"... and sometimes the door locks tight... thank you for sharing

They can be if you let them, right? But still we don't want to forget. It can be difficult to share something this personal. I mean this poem -- It's like I ripped it from my soul, you know? I didn't just think of a subject and write about it. I lived this, it's real.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
