Your Betrayal

  • Thinking about writing something new cause it's been a while.

Your Betrayal

You bring your love
Stand in the way
You had a chance
And you betrayed

Send the messenger
Of doom and strife
To come and stand before us

Take your demons
And go your way
Of dark deception
Lies and pain

Lustful enemy
Of hate and death
Come and make your bargain

Where is your love
Was it taken away
Did you feel the sting
Did you cry that day

Woeful enemy
What was the price
You paid for your betrayal

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
