    Letter to an angel

On April 30, 2004 the Lord decided you'd had enough, and so sent his angels to take you home. You put up a great fight for one so fragile....even your doctor cried.
I remember holding your hand, for days, at your bedside; Your hands, soft as velvet...they would reach for me no more.
I was the one who signed the order to give you the procedure that gave you the blood infection which ravaged your body; I did not know...they told me you would die without hemodialysis.
Your last words to me were "I love you", said with more meaning than I had heard from you since I can remember.
My last words to you were, "Go be with God Mama, it's alright."
In the five years since you left I've tried to be the glue that holds your children together, but your sons curse God and your other daughters are too immersed in their pain. I feel we are hanging onto eachother by fingertips.
April 30, 2009 will be five years without my Mama; 5 years...5 years....an eternity.

Beautiful - warm - the greatest of all writes are the expressions straight from the soul... I know that you wrote this a release and as a tribute to your mother.... however I am very grateful that you cared enough to share - your words are a gift, and I too have been at such a bedside. God Bless!

Hi Sk. My heart goes out to your family and you in your lost. Even though it has been five years since this happened, I know how it can sometimes feel like it was only yesterday. You see, I also know the grief of loosing a mother. Even though my mother has been gone eleven years, I still miss her. I thank God that as time passes, things get much easier. He has been so faithful and true to His word about never leaving me or forsaking me. He's been my all in all and I truly thank Him for His love, comfort, and strength to carry on. He can be for you whatever you need Him to be. All you have to do is call on Him because He's waiting for your call and He will answer. I would like to dedicate four of my poems to your family and you, "An Eternity of Happiness," "Be Strong," Jesus My All," and "He's There For Us All." I hope that you all will find a bit of comfort from reading them. I pray that God's grace and love shine both on and within you. Thanks for sharing and be blessed!!!

I too lost my mother a year ago. It still hurts so much. I'm just so glad that she is not gasping for breath anymore. Keep on believing for siblings. We never get too old that we don't feel we need our mothers. May God bless you and give you comfort. You did the best you could.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be conforted. Remember, there is more beyond. Much more, and it is all good.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
