The cock does crow, in the early morning sun
the first day of new life, has just begun
Grass does grow and teh flowers bloom
a beautiful view of last winters doom
Children will laugh, while they play
while the parents at work, worry away
about the bills, the mortgage, so late
    and delayed
Grim tho their faces, the piper gets paid
They try to save face, in the cold office light
working all day and into the night
And so this is how the first months do pass
with those same concerns, hidden beneath the smiling mask
Now the days get warmer, and we stay out late
the things that we do these deeds will be great
The glow of the grill, the bellies to fill
stories are shared with hardly a care
for the boasts of the deeds, will be
    far far from fair.
As the weather ges colder, the lands color turns
thoughts of mid summer often return
They button their coats and turn face from the breeze
while the wind hows shaking loose a cascade of leaves
When you awake to find the first frost
then comes realization that summer is lost
In every yard of every house
the earth is frozen, every inch throughout
Time seems to stop as the first snowflake falls
as laughter, like bells echo down the halls
As they sit down, to the evening meal
they bow their heads, before plates are filled
Soon sights of contentiment all does surround
as the chimes on the clock say when to lay down
As the snow falls and drifts to grave stone
pushed and pulled by the cold wind blown
Beneath the freezing cold earth like a poet once heard
    but never known..

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
