    • I have been very ill. But I'm back.

    PAIN

Mssr. Lhermitte can go to Hell!

    Taronis – ‘04

    Pain, my constant, reliable companion

Agony and the euphoria of its momentary lapse

With me, always, like some unwanted mate

    Persistent, chronic, vexing, pain

    Lhermitte dances on my shoulders

An evil, less known sadist, he laughs

He sends his cursed lightning bolts across my neck

If I look down he strikes me hard

My hands defy me, playing staccato rhythms of their own

In a conspiracy with evil Lhermitte they refuse to tie my shoes

Collar buttons laugh at me, the hapless stooge

My fly forever at half staff for lack of a finger’s grip

Fatigue in the morning, exhaustion in its fullness at last light

Pills like Easter candy, a syringe, nausea, then good night

What brings light to my endless fight?

Who comforts me and helps in my plight?

Not forsaken, God sends me strength

He gives me help, and wisdom, and a will to endure

He gave me her, happiness at length

And what happiness comes she helps procure

    Out!  Lhermitte, you perverted devil

Leave me to enjoy what I always have

Leave me to live and enjoy the thrill

Leave me in peace while just short of the grave

ta, This poem awes me in its building intensity, its clear and ever constant pesty demon, Lhermitte, the pain and agony it evoke as well as the poet's cry for relief throughout. Superb. ginga

    L'HERMITTE......an MS bonus..lol Thanks ginga :-) -TED

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
