Rebelling Against Purgatory
Duel of broken souls
As bright as burning coals.
Fighting for their very lives.
Fighting for their husbands and wives.
Losing battles. Winning wars.
Yet Death stilll guards the doors.
Forgetting themselves. Forgetting their motivation.
Too many souls, won't open for a nation.
After years of fighting:
Constant clawing and biting.
Very few remain
And even those are barely sane.
But still Death locked the pearly gates.
Won't open 'till he gets an OK from the Fates.
So they keep on dueling
Desperation is their fueling.
Their innocence gone,
Yet they keep pushing on.
Still rebelling against purgatory.
Still the battlefield's all bloody and gory.
Banging on Heaven's Door
And still Death's mouth wants more.
