You'll Never See
I see her curled up in a little ball
Wishing, but knowing you’ll never call.
That’s it, I’m done.
In my mind, you’re foregone.
You lost the right to be a dad.
When you hurt mom, you condescending cad.
You’ll never see me go to prom
Or be able to intimidate Dick or Tom.
You’ll never see me graduate
Nor me on my 2nd or 3rd date.
You’ll never see me get married,
Never see your grandchildren being carried.
Not that you’ll care.
But one day, even if you cry out in despair.
Even if you beg for us to try to repair.
I won’t see you, hear you. I’m unaware
That you’re even there.
Maybe then you’ll realize that you shouldn’t have an affair.
