Remember The Monsters

It's only a reimagining:
Vivid,
With bright lights binding my eyes
Which choose not to see
in the third dimension;
A world lacking depth.
Anything passed what lies on the surface
Lying to me,
Liars in my face.
Those searing words
Don't make it anymore real.
I come only to say goodbye
The person who made me real
Now lies as dead as I.
I am no longer human.
At least, wish I weren't.
This is just the way it ends for me,
Tragedies don't come with happy endings,
After all
who will save them from me?
This is what happens
When I step away from myself,
From guidance,
From knowing I could never be...
A symbolic death
May still be death.
After all
Who will know the difference?

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
