Spiritual Matrimony
Before the year calms downI hope you’re waiting
With the strength
To cry alone.
It might hurt
But you’ll survive
Just breathe in hope
Invite the oxygen.
It’s all up to you
To plant your feet
As the ground takes root
Claims you as its own.
No need for a preacher
In spiritual matrimony
Just spread your arms out
Let it happen.
Inhale the leaves
As they sprout from your fingertips
And music plays
From the roots of your soul…
Swaying to the rhythm
Of a new life
Giving you the chance
To live yours once again.
Lift your branches higher
As bark thickens
Roots take root
Fighting for the core
Where no one can deny you
Just carve their love
Into your new skin
Making you a symbol
In a place where even I
Could love you forever
Holding onto you
Protected by your shade.
So, until the sun burns out
Drink the vile the sea provides
You won’t die alone
Like you thought you would
