Strummin'
Here is where I lose myself
Here is where I feel it
Fingertips strummin’ my skin
Music plays from your fingers to my flesh
Play the sweet tune for me
Your lips sing to me
The siren song that I cannot resist
Effortlessly pulling me in
You smirk as each verse fades into the next
Not knowing that this song is stuck in my head
Deeply I fall into the abyss you have created
Each note is dropped one pitch lower
I hum to you
I hum a song not worthy of a word
In wonder, this is who we are
I wonder, how did we get here
Your song is silenced
With a heart so bent
For a burning
A fortnight
A lost verse.
I can be your inspiration, your muse
As my fingers make their way through your smooth hair
Your soothing voice
A whisper in my ear to tell me we’re ok.
Something funny happened here
Each note rings now
Unable to move without your fingers
Without the reassurance as you strum my skin.
This song is silenced
