Gentle Monster
The music starts
smooth
takes over the movement in my chest
her voice opens up my mind
questions
I feel like you
take me outside
take me to your hiding place
where you lie dormant
where you lie to me for hours
I see only you
I love only you
but years change
and I want to give you a change
remember, monster
this is how we are
and I slowly fly
around your easy mind
dancing to every strike of each note
dance with me
under the hiss of the violin
one million waves.
But misery gave us a better life
winds unspoken
ugly openings to the black heart
remember who we were
we fell easily
as I watched your hell leave
slowly fading into me,
my gentle hand
I will always hold you
swaying to your miserable song
we'll fly,
we're better off this way;
you carry me,
you carry me until the end.
