unhealthy obsession

unhealthy obsession

I have an unhealthy obsession
A feeling beyond my comfort zone
And such a cliché is this passion
That I feel empty when you're gone

Trap me closer to your heart
And chain me to your bed
I see your every move as art
So please protect me from what's inside my head

I feeling like an insane bird that
Craves a smaller cage
Now dress me up, all is set
We can now step into the stage

My words have lost all meaning and power
And no excuses come to my head
So just trap me in a tower
Or maybe chain me to your bed

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
