Wings

Wings

So ridiculously desperate to fall
I forgot
I probably don't have wings
and I couldn't fake them
because I would want to be close to the sun

So ridiculously desperate to fall
now I wonder
if I ever needed wings
because the bird's flight
comes with a price

And should I choose to walk
Would you find me among the crowds?

And should I choose to fly
Would you search for me in the clouds?

The last two stanzas are just breathtaking. I have really enjoyed this and I am saving it into my favorites. Thank you for sharing something so lovely. :)

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
