    Poem Commentary

This poem is about war, obviously. Not a topic I usually touch on, but I felt inspired and it just came to me. I believe that the country makes war out to be this easy, lovely thing and I kind of wanted to express the reality of it all. I kind of wrote it from the 'bad guys' point of view, even though in war, we are all eachother's enemies. I am not pro war. I am not anti war. Just inspired.

    War and No Peace

Watch your brothers fall, watching them die

Hear the screams of innocent, the ring of gunfire

    Children cry

    Mothers die

    Peace is well past disturbed

    It’s been replaced

By absurd murder, ash from down-fallen buildings

    Homes, homes of loving hearts

Pain and suffering cancel out hearts

    Hearts aren’t required to bleed

    Death camps tear apart families

    Brother

    Sister

    Wives

    Husbands

    Children

No, hearts aren’t required to suffer

    To bleed

    To die

Thank you for the kind words.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
