Whalers
-
-
To believe or not to
To believe a little but not much
Tried this path before
To seas untouched
-
Bothered by grace
Of the heavens above
Deceived before
Learned the lot
-
Is your heart true
This time around?
It was not at all, before
Or is it still too hard?
-
I was hurt before
An issue of mistrust
A good advice
Of wordplay you moved around
-
The seas are moving
An appalling sight
A large fish! A large fish
Under the ship and around
-
Is this my chance
To catch a big catch
And feed the innocent
Of your distasteful lust
-
''Bring out the harpoons!”
“Bring out the larger ones!”
“The same items she bore
Are the same things we have “
-
“Man the sails! Every man on deck!
See her rise and fall
Hurling the salt and the air,
Ranting out there!”
-
“Take heed men!
This be our chance!
Fish are caught through nets
Hook her and watch”
-
''Should we shoot now, sir'
Now while her wounds are fresh?''
Harpoons are with rope
Awaiting eyes and ears to detest
-
“Be still men, all is about timing!”
“Check to see if her wounds are deep”
Enough to kill as we hurled her
So we can finally have her meat!”
-
''She is but weak, sir!
No contest to the deep!''
“Men, we may be strong,
But her size may be as big as her id! “
-
“Ay-ay Capt’n! We’ll check and see”
“The ship can take her, we believe!”
Just then she rose, as big as her eyes could be
Looked at us and tried swimming away to sea
-
“Follow her, men.
Don’t let her get away!”
“Her crimes should not to be forgiven
Your captain should not sleep tonight in dismay!”
-
“Fasten yourself to the ship
Come at her and take your prize
Don’t let her go too deep
The harpoons may reach the heap
-
And then the whale came up
Seeking no wisdom from the wise
Gave the ship a large wave
But failure moreover struck her pride
-
She’s ought to say, “I got more”
The men then say, “Do try”
“We are fastened and ready
To walk the plank and die!"
-
“Be strong, men,
Victory will come”
“These wall of seas and salt
Will ne’er take us apart!”
-
She hurled and cried
Short of a forever rant
“Come hear, filthy fish!”
The old captain replied.
-
Harpoons would not kill her
Not without the unison of the lot
She will not fall
Without our strengths combined
-
“Shoot now, men!”
“Shoot with everything we got!”
The whale cried bellowingly loud
In reply to the captain’s echoing shout!
-
“Shoot her with the harpoons!”
Man the cannons and continue
Until not a single knife is left out
And the sea turned into a reddish hue
-
The men in unison hurled and shot
Till the deck was only smoke and ash
“Ay-ay Capt’n there would be no stopping
Until she falls, this day will not pass.”
